Jasmine Gutbrod is an artist, designer, and educator researching the ecological intersections of nature and culture. At Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) she received her bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design and Nature-Culture Sustainability studies, and her master’s in Art and Design Education. She is currently inspired by mythology, storytelling, and archaeological practices. She views art and design as valuable tools for community building and empowerment, and innovative education as a pathway for those tools.

Select residencies include Friday Harbor Marine Laboratory, Shoals Marine Laboratory and Flathead Lake Biological Research Station. She is a SPUR Research Grant recipient and a former Maharam STEAM fellow. Teaching positions include undergraduate courses in the RISD Furniture Design Department and outside with Wild Lives. Her studio is based in Providence, Rhode Island.
